Hip Hop Film Festival

What: A four-day screening event featuring films that celebrate global hip-hop culture, made by filmmakers from all over the world. Click here for the full schedule.

When: Festival runs from 12:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
New York City Polo Match

What: The city’s only polo match hits the island this weekend. “One of the largest equestrian events in the United States,” the Victory Cup will likely excite all those in attendance.

Craft Brewers Festival At New York City Polo Match
Neighborhood: New York Harbor
What: Venture over to the craft beer tent for a taste of something delicious during this weekend’s polo match on New York City’s own island oasis. Event includes a selection of beer, wine, spirits and a farm-to-table dinner.

When: Saturday at 10 a.m.
Silent Summer Dance Party
Neighborhood: Lower Manhattan
What: A daytime silent disco featuring three different genres of music: top 40 dance hits; throwback from the 80s, 90s and 2,000s and hip hop and R&B. Grab a headset and choose your favorite station or switch back and forth for a variety of jams as you take in Hudson River views at this coastal park.

Great Jazz On The Great Hill
Neighborhood: Central Park
What: An evening of jams featuring Jimmy Heath and his 16-piece big band, vocalist Alyson Williams and Winard Harper & Friends. Refreshments will not be sold during this free event.

Street Meat: NYC-Style Burlesque
Neighborhood: Shh! It’s a secret.
What: The city’s “most talented” burlesque and performance artists bring you their “strangest, sexiest” and “most shocking” pieces for one night only.
Where: Secret venue, ticket holders will receive exact location information the day of the show

Dinner In The Dark
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
What: Get ready to chow down as you explore a multi-course dinner — and your other four senses — while completely blindfolded. Try to guess which food and wines you are consuming on the bistro’s secret menu during this night of dark deliciousness.
