GOVERNORS ISLAND, NY — One the nation’s largest equestrian events is returning to Governors Island on Saturday — this time with a massive craft beer festival.

The Victory Cup will host several polo matches but is more than a sporting event with a craft beer festival featuring 20 brews, more than two dozen food vendors and a farm to table diner experience.

Inventive draughts in the beer festival include Anchor Steam Mango Wheat, Abita Purple Haze Fruit Spiced Louisiana Craft and Victory Summer Love Blond Ale. Local farms and vineyards will also offer tastings but hungry polo goers can chow down on array of grub including Dino’s BBQ, Lolo’s Lobster Truck and Bona Bona Ice Cream.

Organizers encourage attendees to wear their best duds and bonnets for a casual fashion show.

Lawn pass tickets are free and give folks access to the event throughout the day including polo matches and the craft brewery fest. Those who spring for the $75 day of general admission tickets have access to a tented area with a private bar.

Hardcore equestrian fans can go for The Golden Mallet Tent package at $175 that offers access to a tent with live music and a DJ, the central polo announcer and several bars. Golden Mallet ticket holders will also enjoy a catered lunch and can partake in dozens of tastings from 10 a.m. until noon.

Lastly, for $375 folks can score an all inclusive package with access to a VIP lounge. Kids under three are free. Tickets for children between the ages of 3-18 cost $5.

Frequent ferry trips to the island run from the Financial District’s Battery Maritime Building and Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Depending on when you travel some trips are free, others run $3 for adults, $1 for seniors and tickets are free for tykes under 13.
