“The Victory Cup” Boots & Pearls Polo Match Comes To Austin
University of Texas Polo Team To Take On Texas A&M
Austin, TX – The Victory Cup is coming to the Austin metropolitan area to host its Texas polo match called “Boots & Pearls: The Best Party in Texas” on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1pm. The event will be held at Two Wishes Ranch, a breathtaking 400-area polo facility conveniently located 30 minutes south of Austin in Lockhart, TX.
Whether a polo enthusiast or new to the sport, this event has something for everyone and promises to be well-worth the quick trip from Austin or San Antonio. The highlight of the day is certainly the polo match featuring the University of Texas Polo Club taking on the Texas A&M Polo Club; however there is much more in store.
The founder of The Victory Cup, New York State Senator Greg Ball, originally started the event as a political fundraiser hosted during his time in public office. Now, Senator Ball has returned to the private sector with his announcement to retire earlier this year and is bringing his love of polo and this unique social networking experience south to Texas.
“Having hosted an annual polo match for the past ten years, I’ve learned a lot about putting on a great event that keeps people coming back every year. The Victory Cup has become known as ‘The Best Party of The Summer’ in New York and for good reason. We had a tremendously successful polo match there in early September.
Now, with ‘Boots & Pearls’, we are establishing The Victory Cup as the ‘best party in Texas’. With the amazing afternoon we have planned, I’m certain this event will help us close out 2014 as our best year yet,” said Greg Ball.
Victory Cup attendees are encouraged to get dressed up in their best boots, denim, dresses and pearls to enjoy a gorgeous fall afternoon at Two Wishes Ranch in Lockhart. Guests will enjoy taking in the majesty of the horses, the sights of beautiful people and the thrill of heart pounding polo! A true entertainment experience Victory Cup Texas has not only lined up the in-state rival polo match between UT and A&M but polo-goers will enjoy field side tailgating, food trucks, a classic car show, the pet parade and a children’s playground for families.
Additionally, there will be a VIP tent for guests who want to enjoy a more refined experience while they mix and mingle with premier event sponsors and partners. Mary Ann McMahon, owner/broker with Posh Properties in Austin, said “we are beyond thrilled to be a sponsor of The Victory Cup Texas. Polo matches have such a touch of luxury associated with them and at Posh Properties we focus on luxury and the highest caliber service to our clients. It makes a perfect partnership.” The VIP tent will feature local farm to table foods and local wines, spirits and beer from the greater Austin area. VIPs will enjoy great food, drinks and a live performance by country artist Rick Trevino and leave with a great exclusive gift bag with goodies from partners like Austin Way, Cyc Fitness and Pure Pilates.
Finally, The Victory Cup has partnered with local charities to help support their missions like the Young Men’s Business League of Austin. As an entrepreneurial young man himself, Senator Ball was pleased to connect with Jason Crawford with the YMBL. Jason said “working with such a young and fun event like Victory Cup, led by Senator Ball, is a no-brainer partnership for us. This event will be a social destination like no other bringing together a great mix of up and coming leaders from the Austin and San Antonio areas alongside established ones.”
